Character education has become an important topic in the field of education. The purpose of character education is to shape individuals with high morality, ethics, and positive values. Character education can also help students to overcome various social issues that occur in their environment. The methods used in character education include moral, character, and ethical approaches. Character education can also be applied through formal curricula, extracurricular activities, and the school environment. However, there are still challenges in implementing character education effectively in schools, such as the lack of awareness and support from decision-makers, as well as the lack of resources and trained educators. Therefore, there is a need for greater effort from all parties, starting from decision-makers, teachers, parents, and the community, to strengthen the implementation of character education in schools. By doing so, it is hoped that it can shape a younger generation with good character and morality, and able to play an active role in building a better society in the future.
